Binley’s Fall Festival

September 15, 2012

Our Fall Festival has come and gone. I hope you were able to get here for the fun. The weather was perfect; just cool enough to remind you that fall was here and warm enough to make the day enjoyable. This year’s crowd was the largest yet. Our parking lot was filled and the lot at CWI next door was too.

This year we had 40 vendors, covering a wide variety of interests, from jewelry to sign makers to a photographer. Our friends from Parkland Alpaca Farm were here with two animals. We had chair massages, North Country Wild Life and SPCA of Upstate NY (with puppies and kittens). Did I mention a troupe of belly dancers? We had them too.

If your interest was in food, we had that covered too. There was kettle corn, cotton candy, maple products and a food truck with hot dogs, hamburgers and such. We even had a “desert wagon” offering ice cream and strawberry shortcake.

Dan and Pete from WCKM were here from 10 until 1 with their offbeat humor moving things along. And Local Living In, a new source for bargains was here to introduce their service. On the subject of offbeat, our driver, James, bravely volunteered to sit in the dunking booth. He got wet on a less than warm day to help raise money for the SPCA of Upstate NY. Thank you James!

The State Police usually send over Officer Brian Rumrill and his dog Donavan, but this year they couldn’t make it. They were scheduled to be here, but just before they started over they stopped a car and found drugs and were tied up with the paper work. They stopped by later in the day to let us know what happened.

I hope you are able to join in the fun next September. Watch for the date.
